'Haath Ki Safai (English: It's all in your hands) is a 1974 Hindi film produced by I.A Nadiadwala. Directed by Prakash Mehra, the film features Vinod Khanna, who won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award, the only nomination and win for the film.[1] The rest of the cast include Hema Malini, Randhir Kapoor, Simi Garewal, Ranjeet and Satyen Kappu. The music is by Kalyanji Anandji. The film became a "semi-hit" at the box office.[2]

The film was later remade in Telugu as Manushulu Chesina Dongalu (1976).[3]

Story

Two brothers get separated, when fleeing from their village and reach Mumbai. Raju Randhir Kapoor is led to a crook and becomes a Pick pocket under his tutelage. The elder one Vinod Khanna becomes a Crime-Boss. They face each other when Raju sells a young girl Hema Malini to a Crime-syndicate run by his elder brother. Raju, after the incident realized his mistake and the girl's love towards him, goes back and demands to get his lady-love back. Faced with harsh reality of her status, she rejects to come back with Raju. Situations leads to worsening relationships, but Raju learns that he in fact is fighting with his elder brother. Can he save his brother?
